For the seventh year in a row, Malta House of Care has been awarded a 2026 Gold Rating by the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC), the highest level of recognition available through the organization’s Quality Standards Program.
The Gold Rating reflects Malta’s unwavering commitment to providing safe, high-quality healthcare to uninsured adults throughout Greater Hartford. It recognizes clinics that demonstrate excellence in patient care, accountability, and continuous quality improvement.
At Malta, quality healthcare means more than treating illness. It means welcoming every patient with compassion, respect, and dignity. It means ensuring that uninsured adults have access to preventive care, chronic disease management, behavioral health support, specialty referrals, medications, and other essential services regardless of their ability to pay.
To achieve Gold Status, Malta completed a comprehensive review process evaluating standards related to patient safety, clinical quality, governance, risk management, and operational effectiveness. The designation confirms that Malta meets nationally recognized benchmarks for excellence in free and charitable healthcare.
