Over 50 medical volunteers working in conjunction with our small staff as the power behind the care Malta provides free to uninsured patients. Many work four hour shifts weekly or every two weeks. All medical volunteers must hold a current medical license from the State of Connecticut with experience in primary and/or urgent/emergency care preferred.

Volunteer medical professionals contribute 1,000s of hours of free medical care to Malta.
If you are a doctor, APRN, PA or nurse who has time to give to this ongoing local medical mission, please complete this inquiry form and we will call you to discuss the possibilities.
A small group of non-medically licensed volunteers assist our staff in administrative work either regularly or periodically, including assistance with any fundraising events.

“I have been an advocate for social justice, in health care, throughout my 47 year nursing career. Malta House of Care’s mission is one I deeply care about. I truly believe every person in this country deserves equal access to health care as a right, not as a privilege. At Malta House I actively witness the respect, compassion and expert care given to our patients. The gratitude expressed by our patients is so humbling. I am grateful to be able to contribute a very small part to this wonderful team. Selfishly it feeds my nursing soul!”
