Founders Day July 9, 2026

Twenty Years of Compassion

Twenty years ago, on July 9, 2006, Dr. Pauline Olsen helped turn a bold vision into reality: that no one should go without healthcare simply because they couldn’t afford it.

As a founder of Malta House of Care, Pauline’s compassion, leadership, and unwavering commitment laid the foundation for an organization that has since provided tens of thousands of free medical visits to uninsured adults across Greater Hartford. Her vision continues to live on in every patient we serve.

Remembering Pauline

This Founders Day carries special significance as we honor Pauline’s memory following her recent passing. We deeply miss her and we remain profoundly grateful for the legacy she leaves behind—a legacy of dignity, hope, and compassionate care.

Hear Pauline Tell the Story

Please join us in remembering Pauline by watching this special video from 2011, where she reflects on the mission that continues to inspire all of us.

Thank you, Pauline, for showing us what is possible when compassion leads the way. ❤️

“Pauline made us all feel that we were the only person in the room.  She made each of us feel special and she had the gift of being truly present to others.”
