Malta House of Care recently welcomed 18 patients for Women’s Wellness Day, a special clinic focused on making important preventive screenings and women’s health services easier to access for our uninsured patients.
During the event, Malta patients received 15 Pap smears, nine mammograms aboard Hartford Hospital’s Mobile Mammography Van, three flu shots, seven diabetes and cholesterol screenings, as well as colon cancer screenings. Two additional mammograms were scheduled at the hospital, and six patients were referred to gynecology for ongoing care.
Women’s Wellness Day is designed to bring multiple services together in a single visit—particularly important for patients who may otherwise need to take additional time away from work, arrange transportation, or navigate multiple appointments to receive the care they need.
The day also provides an important opportunity to identify health concerns early and connect patients with appropriate follow-up care. From cancer screenings to diabetes and cholesterol testing, preventive care can help patients understand their health risks and address potential problems before they become more serious.
Thank you to Hartford HealthCare, Hartford Hospital’s Mobile Mammography Van, and everyone who helped make this special day of care possible—and to our patients for trusting Malta with their health.
